Steamboat is bustling with holiday weekend visitors. The Steamboat gondola begins summer operation today, weekends only until mid-June. My little guy loves the gondi, so we’ll do a lap this weekend, despite the remaining snow at mid-mountain. I attended the local Economic Summit again this year. Nearly ever speaker and panel had similar sentiments, Steamboat is great and growing, yet lacks affordable housing for the workforce. An age-old tune and truth!
Some new developments forthcoming – The Astrid, a new slopeside, luxury development is a go. Mountainside- two new hotels have been approved, one of which, the Holiday Inn Express recently broke ground. Downtown we’ll see the renovation of the Western Lodge, an old roadside motel, along with rumblings of a new hotel. A lot of new multi-family projects happenings currently, with not much developable land remaining within City limits!
Market Update: This week the Steamboat Springs real estate market had 21 new listings, 12 under contract, and 8 closed properties. We’ve seen some great Green Zone properties hit the market this week -these are properties with unrestricted nightly rentals.
