Market Update: This week the Steamboat Springs real estate market had 17 new listings, 14 under contract, and 14 closed properties. This week there are more Green Zone properties (i.e. NO Nightly Rental restrictions) hitting the market than I’ve seen since peak summer selling season.

It’s almost Opening Day (and Thanksgiving)! The Ski Resort will open Wednesday, snow conditions could be better despite our nightly Snow Dance Parties. By “open” it will be just the few runs where snow making efforts have created just enough coverage for skiers and riders to get from mid-mountain to the base. Cause for celebration, no doubt, but you won’t catch me clipped in until we are in full snow globe mode.
I’ve been spending a lot of time with the Steamboat Chamber of late. Yesterday, I represented the local Lodging Community at a round table discussion on “Destination Stewardship” and how we, as a community, can strengthen the balance of local life and growing appeal of Steamboat as a travel destination (check out our latest shoutout on Travel Lemming’s 50 Best Places to Travel – Worldwide!). I’m always amazed and so very proud that our community is forward thinking and collaborative to ensure quality of life and experience for all “residents”- not only for the year-round citizens but those in the Boat visiting for just a few nights.
These initiatives reinforce why being a homeowner in Steamboat extends beyond just an investment in property. Owning in Steamboat connects you to one of the best communities in the country!
