The Dallas Morning News, for the seventh consecutive year, has ranked Boot Ranch as one of the “Top 10 Golf Courses in the Lone Star State.” Leave a reply The Dallas Morning News Ranks Boot Ranch Course in “Top 10” Once Again This year Boot Ranch ranked as #6, up from #9 in 2013. The rankings are determined by the average score of ratings by The Dallas Morning News’ Texas Golf panel. Panel members rate courses on a 1-10 scale. To be eligible for the Top 100, a course needs to be rated by 13 of the 90 panel members (or at least 15 percent). PGA Champion Hal Sutton designed the course to complement – rather than confront – the scenic surroundings. The course rises and falls along the natural ridges and valleys and makes full use of natural water features, one being the twin 40-foot waterfalls in front of the 10th green. The course measures 7,250 yards from the longest tee for a Par 71. In addition, there’s a 34-acre practice park, which includes a short game range and an executive Par 3 course.
